Looking at the post and the forums, it appears this is about a
specific gaming goup. A couple of questions occur.

So, what's Heroic Cthulhu and how does it differ from normal Call of
Cthulhu? Is it just a campaign name?

People are listening to podcasts of other people's tabletop games?
Really?

I have - but only for a very particular reason. It was to get a sense
of the mechanics and technique for playing the _Godlike_ RPG. The
podcasts themselves were - like most 'gaming stories' - deadly dull, but
it did help understand how the game was to be run (and the podcasts
themselves were of a group learning the system, which was crucial for
this understanding).

The idea of listening to these things for recreational purposes
boggles my mind as well.

The funny thing is I had to sign on to here to reply. I've never been on
this board before. To answer your questions:

It is different. The rules set can be found here:
http://hosted.filefront.com/logan9a/

The boards for it can be found here:

Um - thousands of downloads a month. Guess not everyone found it dull!

(You posted from 'www.talkaboutgaming.com'.) Neither have we, and yet
we can still communicate in a coherent forum. That's the wonder of
Usenet newsgroups; there's no single server that everyone must sign up
with.

A shame that so many conversations are taking place in walled gardens
thaat one can't participate in without signing on.

Very confusing. If anyone is wanting to talk about Heroic Cthulhu, my
board (I got it for free!) is easy to use and is located at

I was hoping for a summary rather than a rule reference. I don't have the
time or interest to dive into a ruleset and figure it out for myself, but
did for a casual conversation on the subject.

Of course, being rather evil- if it sounded interesting I might then read
the rules and see if they matched the billing :)
