Hi All,

I was hoping to compile an updated survey of pros and cons
for current gaming systems. If you are interested in adding
your thoughts that would be great. It would be very helpful
if you place a brief summary at the very top of your post
listing the system and the pros/cons as you see them.

For example:

GURPS:
------
pros:
1) using on type of dice (d6)
2) ...
cons:
1) ...

This will help me to compile your thoughts. Also, it would
be great if you included any house rules you use to
compensate for the cons.

Should be fun!

My 2 cents on this :)

D&D
----
pros:
1) Lots of material (Thanks to the d20 license)
2) Nearly every roleplayer knows it :)
cons:
1) Stupid, unrealistic and unflexible rules
2) Enforces "combat and looting" oriented playing
3) Expensive (Three core rule books? Who needs this?)

Fading Suns
---
pros:
1) Very cool background
2) SF for people that don't like SF :)
3) Fast and flexible rules
cons:
1) Unneccessary complicated combat system

Harnmaster
---
pros:
1) Very realistic (in every manner)
2) Detailed background
cons:
1) Complicated rules

Ars magica
---
pros:
1) Very good background and mood
2) Incorporates european history in a good way
3) Best magic system of all!
cons:
1) Poor task resolution rules
